Flying by the right rules
TraviationX runs on trust, real expertise, and respect for each other. These guidelines exist to protect the quality of what gets shared here, and the people sharing it.
Our values
Everything on TraviationX flows from four principles that define how we learn together.
Substance over status
What you share matters more than your title. A ground handler with a sharp observation outranks a VP with a press release.
Confidentiality by default
Real insights only happen when people feel safe. We anonymise as a habit, so airlines, routes, and colleagues stay protected.
Peer respect
Push back on ideas, not people. Disagreement is welcome. Dismissiveness is not. Aviation is a small world.
Evidence over opinion
Back up what you say with data, experience, or a source. "In my experience" is fine. "Everyone knows" is not.
What's welcome here
The content that makes TraviationX valuable to every member.
Case studies & lessons learned
Real examples from your work: what worked, what didn't, and what you'd do differently next time. Anonymised where it needs to be.
Data-backed insights
Analysis, model results, dashboards, and metrics that help others understand a problem or solution better.
Tool & technology reviews
Honest takes on airline tech: what it does well, where it falls short, and who it's actually a good fit for.
Industry debates & open questions
Topics the industry hasn't agreed on. Ask for perspectives, challenge assumptions, and explore the trade-offs.
Career & role insights
How to grow in your function, what skills matter, what airline teams actually look for. Practical guidance from peers.
What's not allowed
Content that undermines trust, safety, or the quality of the community.
Recruitment posts or job ads without moderator approval
Role and skill discussions without specific job listings
Product promotion disguised as insight or a case study
Transparent tool reviews. Just say if you work for the vendor.
Confidential airline data, financials, or internal documents
Aggregated or fully anonymised data and trends
Named criticism of colleagues, managers, or specific airlines
Systemic critiques without naming individuals
Misinformation or unverified safety-related claims
Safety topics with proper citations and appropriate caveats
Disrespectful, dismissive, or personal attacks in comments
Firm but respectful disagreement on ideas and methods
AI-generated content published without disclosure
AI-assisted writing with a quick note at the end of your post
Anonymisation policy
Share real insights without breaching confidentiality. This is how we protect you and your employer.
The golden rule: if your post could identify a specific airline, route, colleague, or internal system that wasn't already public, anonymise it before you hit publish.
How moderation works
Firm, fair, and out in the open. We follow a clear set of steps.
- 1
The community flags it
Any member can flag a post or comment. Flags are anonymous and a moderator looks at them within 24 hours.
- 2
First time: a private note
The author gets a private message explaining what the issue is and how to fix it. The content may be hidden for a short while.
- 3
It happens again: posting paused
Posting is paused for 14 days. The member can still read and comment, and we review things after that.
- 4
Something serious: permanent removal
Confidentiality breaches, harassment, or deliberate misinformation lead to immediate and permanent removal.
Crew & people: a quick note
This division carries additional care. Pilots and cabin crew operate under strict regulatory and employment frameworks.
Fatigue & safety discussions
Posts about crew fatigue, FRMS, or duty time must be based on published regulations or anonymised experience. Don't share specifics that could identify an event under investigation.
Employment & labour topics
Discussions about rostering disputes, contracts, or union matters are welcome as general industry topics. Do not name airlines or individuals in ongoing disputes.
Crew wellbeing content
Mental health, burnout, and wellbeing topics are encouraged and treated with sensitivity. Moderators give extra care to posts in this area.
Questions or appeals?
If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, or have a question about these guidelines, our team responds within 48 hours.
